Bio

Reyes Melendez is a freelance photographer and art director based in New York. He graduated from Pratt Institute, New York with a masters degree in communication design. Reyes, an award-winning editorial art director, worked for over 20 years for prestigious publications such as Martha Stewart, Real Simple, W magazine, Sports Illustrated, ESPN and People Magazine. While closely collaborating with photographers over those years, Reyes felt increasingly drawn to the camera. He decided to continue shooting on his free time and eventually committed himself to a new career as a photographer. With his strong design-oriented background, Reyes offers his clients a broad range of innovative alternative perspectives. He has shot for a diverse roster of advertising, editorial, and commercial clients, including Southern California Gas Company, Sempra Energy, UCLA, WeHo Sports Festival, St John’s Well Child and Family Center, POZ Magazine. Outside of his studio, he enjoys travelling, cooking, and biking.
